The Daily UI Challenge

Daily UI Challenge #1 Sign Up Page

I designed a sign-up interface, I designed both a current user sign up and a sign up for a new user. I kept the design pretty simple and included common fields I see in most applications UI/UX such as name, email, password, and register buttons. As a visual designer, I selected a color palette from Pinterest I liked, I wanted to keep the design elements simple and geometric as this is just a concept and not an actual brand. I then went to google fonts and selected a clear, legible font with multiple weights.

Daily UI Challenge #2 Credit Card Checkout

I designed a credit card checkout and success page. I tried to keep in mind the standard fields that needed to be filled out, I also made sure to keep CTA’s visual and descriptive. I used best UI/UX practices in this design. As a visual designer, I wanted to experiment with gradients and how they would look in a conceptual e-commerce storefront design. I tried to be mindful of legibility at such a small size, I was able to successfully create a beautiful UI while also allowing the user to easily navigate the form.

Daily UI Challenge #3: Minimalist Landing Page

I designed a landing page for pet adoptions. I went for a more brutalist design aesthetic. I included 2 primary CTA’s which were Adopt a pet and Donate Now. Since the primary goal of an animal shelter is to get animals adopted quickly and receive funding to take care of more animals. As a visual designer, I wanted the landing page to be minimal, modern and get right to the point which is adopting more pets. I selected to keep a navigation bar because if the user somehow accidentally landed on this page I wanted them to be able to navigate to other areas of the site.

Daily UI Challenge #4: Apple Watch Calculator

I designed the UI of an Apple Watch, since it is so small I made sure the #’s were fat finger friendly so the calculator could be easily used and to ensure the wrong # wouldn’t be selected. As a visual designer, I decided to utilize a clear simple font and a dark UI since thats easier for the eye to see on smaller devices. I used a pink gradient and a grey/purple background.

Daily UI Challenge #5: App Icon

I designed a messaging app icon, since it is so small I made sure the use case of the app was clear in my design. I also wanted to keep a modern aesthetic. As a visual designer, I decided to utilize iconography in the messaging app icon design. I also choose to use gradients since that will put a modern touch on the whole look/feel.

Daily UI Challenge #6: User Profile

For this daily UI challenge, I designed a user profile for a photography app. The app is meant to allow users to share, edit, and create community within the app. I made sure to feature the user at the top and to show the photography in an appealing way. For the visual design, I kept with a yellow, black, and grey palette, simple iconography, and plenty of room for the user to be creative.

Daily UI Challenge #7: Settings

For this daily UI challenge, I designed a setting screen for a smart home light bulb. The app is meant to adjust the users lighting remotely, set timers, create a schedule or even simply turn it on or off with ease. I wanted the app to be clean, simple, modern and easily legible.

Daily UI Challenge #8: 404 Page

For this daily UI challenge I designed a 404 page for my favorite brand of jeans and a classic Levi’s I wanted to keep with the timeless aesthetic and their brand so I paid attention to colors, typography and what they currently have on their site. Just because a 404 page is annoying doesn’t mean that it has to be boring!

Daily UI Challenge #9: Music Player

For this daily UI challenge I designed a music player, this was a little difficult for me because many of the elements already exist and in my opinion if it isn’t broken don’t fix it! However I did have some fun utilizing gradients, and sticking with a minimalist UI.

Daily UI Challenge #10: App Icon

For this daily UI challenge I designed an app icon for file sharing. I often have difficulties transferring photos from android to iPhone and vice versa this app icon would make that possible while retaining it’s image and video quality. I made the icon bold, and simplistic utilizing an icon that's common among all users.

Daily UI Challenge #12: E-Commerce Shop

I designed a shop for a modern furniture company. I showed the shopping selection section as well as the product page. I wanted to show off my skillsets in designing for mobile and highlight the modern aesthetic. I selected to keep the the typography legible, the colors neutral and and the design modern and minimalist.
